Recreation Opportunities at the Weston Hills Recreation Area in Wyoming

As you enter the Weston Hills Recreation Area 25 miles north off of Highway 59 on the west, this is the view you see.

About a mile up the road, there is a fishing pond across from the Restroom Building.    There are other smaller ponds to fish in nearby.

View from the area by the fishing pond

Wildflowers and many plants provide photo opportunities for photographers.

This is the restroom.  Be sure to bring toilet paper because sometimes people take the rolls!  The restroom is clean and doesn't smell.

The area in July and August is very dry, so be sure to check for fire restrictions issued by the BLM for this area.  You can check for fire restrictions for the State of Wyoming by clicking this link:

The area has juniper tress and even stands of Ponderosa Pines.  From this area, you can see the Big Horn Mountains and Devil's Tower.

Off Road vehicles are allowed on designated roads and trails.

There is no drinking water available at this area, so be sure to bring plenty when you visit.

You can bring your horse/s and go horseback riding here.

Summer thunderstorms can roll in quickly, so watch the direction the clouds are moving and note the direction the wind is blowing.

Watch for rattlesnakes in the summer!

Dispersed camping is permitted.

Some guys havin' a blast!!

The entire Weston Hills Recreation Area is a limited use vehicle travel area. This means that motorized vehicle travel is limited to roads and vehicle routes marked with "white arrows."
